Lifeguard Instructor Course (LGI)
Workshop/Training
The Lifeguarding Instructor course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses including Lifeguarding Shallow Water Lifeguarding Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding Waterpark Skills Waterfront Skills CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Bloodborne Pathogens Training. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the first in-person session of the instructor course. Prerequisites: 1. Minimum age: 17 years 2. Possess a current Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid 3. Ability to successfully demonstrate all Lifeguarding and CPR skills including a precourse assessment to perform a water rescue (submerged drowning) extrication single rescuer CPR for 3 minutes.

Reel Rock 19 showcases three world-premiere climbing films spanning disciplines, characters, and continents: a heartfelt story of second chances in love and climbing on Squamish’s legendary Cobra Crack; an outrageous 18-day big wall epic on Patagonia’s towering Torre Central; and the pursuit of a lifelong dream—a 5.15 first ascent—made possible by an unlikely partnership. In collaboration with USU Outdoor Programs, we'll be showing the film at the Eccles Conference Center Room 216. Tickets are $18 for community and $13 for students - buy all tickets at the door.

Each year, USU recognizes the work of outstanding faculty, staff, students, partners, and alumni that exemplifies collaboration between USU and the greater community and demonstrates ongoing commitment to community engagement and positive social change. The Center for Community Engagement has three prestigious awards for students, faculty, and community members who are committed to outstanding service: The Presidential Award, the Ivory Prize, and the Val R. Basic Life Support (BLS) Training

The purpose of the American Red Cross BLS course it to train healthcare professionals including nurses, physicians, EMS professionals, and other healthcare and public safety personnel to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Core Skills: Rapid assessment and visual survey; CPR/AED for adults, children, and infants; obstructed airways; opiod overdoses; critical thinking, problem solving, communication and teamwork; the Emergency Medical Services System; legal considerations.

Logan Canyon Rock Climbing

Come spend a few hours rock climbing up in Logan Canyon. We will meet at the OP and drive up the canyon to experience some of the many climbs right in our campus backyard. This is a great opportunity to learn some of the routes in Logan Canyon or try climbing for the first time. No experience necessary, beginners welcome. Logan Canyon Rock Climbing

Come spend a few hours rock climbing up in Logan Canyon. We will meet at the OP and drive up the canyon to experience some of the many climbs right in our campus backyard. This is a great opportunity to learn some of the routes in Logan Canyon or try climbing for the first time. No experience necessary, beginners welcome. Trip Cost includes transportation, climbing equipment, and student leadership. Space is limited so sign up today!

Join us for a one-day intramural tennis tournament! We have singles and doubles divisions - sign up to claim your spot! We'll be playing at the USU tennis courts starting at 10am. Registration is free with an IM membership or $15 for a single sports pass. All registration can be done in the Fusion Play App.
