Free Cooking Demo

Weeding & Sustainable Gardening with Aggies Building Community

Student Activities

Join Aggies Building Community (ABC) and help to weed the native food garden at Stokes Nature Center in Nibley and learn about sustainable gardening practices. This activity is part of ABC's focus on land stewardship during the month of September. People who are interested in service can come and meet new friends, as well as learn more about what ABC is for. Optional carpool available with registration

USU Farmers Market

Student Activities

The USU Farmers Market brings community members together to purchase locally-made and locally-grown food, crafts and other products. Students are able to utilize the Double Your Bucks program which allows active USU students to double their money in dollar increments up to $6.00. Double Your Bucks tokens may only be used in the Market towards produce and select food items.

Looking to connect to volunteer opportunities with local nonprofits and other organizations? Come to the Community Volunteer Fair! This year's organizations include: Bolder Way Forward, the WAB Warming Center, CAPSA, United Way of Northern Utah, the Christmas Car Project, Public and School Partnership, The Family Place, Stokes Nature Center, Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, and SAAVI.

Harvest Rescue

Student Activities

Harvest Rescue coordinates available ready-to-harvest produce from tree and garden owners with local volunteers to pick and donate the produce to organizations who can use it. Volunteers who harvest and pick produce are required to wear closed toed shoes and be respectful of the tree/land owners property. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have adult supervision during sessions. Volunteers are permitted to take home a small portion of the harvested produce in appreciation for their support.

City of Rocks Climbing

We are heading north across the border to the City of Rocks National Preserve to climb and camp. We will spend our days exploring and climbing some of the amazing routes in the City and our evenings around the camp fire. No climbing experience is necessary for this trip and all abilities are welcome. Participants must be prepared for overnight camping, moderate hiking and heights. The trip cost includes transportation, food, camping fees, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent, group climbing equipment and shoes, helmet and harness. Space is limited, so register today!
