Blind Hollow Yurt Backcountry Skiing/Boarding

Recreation

We are heading up to the Blind Hollow yurt to spend the weekend enjoying the Bear River backcountry. We will explore some of the fantastic riding terrain around Blind Hollow and spend the evenings around the fire in the comforts of the OP's yurt. Prior backcountry experience is recommended and participants must be expert/advanced riders (able to comfortably ride black diamond western resort terrain). Participants must also be in good physical condition and prepared for strenuous uphill hiking. Winter backcountry travel equipment(Alpine Touring, Telemark, Splitboard) is required and available to rent from the OP for a nominal fee. NO SNOWSHOES.

Free Nutrition Workshop

Information/Orientation

Join us for our free Nutrition Workshop at the ARC nutrition center. Topics range from discussions on cooking for one, adding more plant proteins to your diet, or meal planning. Presentations are given by USU students where you'll receive great information, recipes, and ways to implement topics into your daily life. Two presentations will be offered, one at 3pm another to follow at 4pm. Registration required, spots are limited.

Community Voices & Engagement Workshop Series: Introduction to Community Engagement

Special Event

This workshop will give students and faculty the opportunity to explore the Pathways of Public Service and identify ways in which they can make a unique contribution to the public good. In addition, attendees will learn about the Community Engagement principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit and discover how to develop partnerships that amplify community voice.
Featured speakers include Jen Levy, founder of Stokes Nature Center; Nelda Ault-Dyslin, founder of Cache Refugee & Immigrant Connection (CRIC); and Kate Stephens, founder of Common Ground Outdoor Adventures.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation.

Pomerelle Night Skiing

Join us for a night of resort skiing or riding at Pomerelle Mountain in Albion, ID. This small but mighty resort offers a variety of different trails for different skill levels and boasts “the deepest snow in Idaho!” Downhill skis or snowboard are required and available to rent from the OP Rental Shop. Trip cost includes transportation, lift ticket, and student leadership.

Beaver Mountain Shuttle

We’re now offering a shuttle to Beaver Mountain for a day of resort skiing or riding. This is an ideal opportunity for those of you who already have a Beaver pass or interest in skiing/riding at Beaver, but have no way of getting to the mountain. This trip does not include a lift ticket to Beaver Mountain. Participants are required to obtain a lift ticket or season pass prior to this trip. Trip cost includes transportation and student leadership.
