VRO / AFROTC Det 860 Ski Night at Beaver Mountain

The Veterans Resource Office (VRO) supports the AFROTC Detachment 860 Ski Night at Beaver Mountain on 25 Jan from 1700-2100. Det 860 has graciously extended an invitation to all members of the VRO. Lift tickets will cost $15 (season passes are not valid) to be purchased upon arrival at the mountain. Rentals for snowboards or skis will be $12, or $20 for the "performance package". Helmet rentals are $10. If renting, you will need a license or credit card for a deposit. The USU Veterans Resource Office (VRO) will host a virtual Townhall Meeting to discuss VA-mandated, GI Bill/Educational Benefits certification procedures. Additionally, there will be a Q&A with students, faculty and staff who may have questions about VA and VRO requirements, processes, and procedures.

Blind Hollow Yurt Backcountry Skiing/Boarding Trip

We are heading up to the Blind Hollow yurt spend the weekend enjoying the Bear River backcountry. We will explore some of the fantastic riding terrain around Blind Hollow and spend the evenings around the fire in the comforts of the OP's yurt. Prior backcountry experience is recommended and participants must be expert/advanced riders (able to comfortably ride black diamond western resort terrain). Participants must also be in good physical condition and prepared for strenuous uphill hiking. Winter backcountry travel equipment(Alpine Touring, Telemark, Splitboard) are required and available to rent from the OP for a nominal fee. NO SNOWSHOES. All participants must abide by OP and University Policies.

Come join us for a day of skiing/snowboarding at Powder Mountain resort. We will meet up at Outdoor Programs, load up our ski/snowboard gear, and head to Powder Mountain to burn some turns. All riding abilities are welcome as there is terrain for everyone. Trip cost includes transportation and Powder Mountain lift ticket. Discounted ski rentals are available for an additional $10. This trip does not include ski or snowboard instruction. If you would like a lesson, you can contact Powder Mountain ski school. Participants must be registered and travel to and from Powder Mountain with Outdoor Programs to be eligible for the discount lift ticket.
