Cooking demos are designed to educate, inspire, or promote new cooking skills, cuisines, or ingredients. Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Sciences (NDFS) students will provide you with nutrition information, culinary techniques, and recipe cards that you can take home. You will also have the chance to sample the dishes that are prepared!
Mending Workshop with True Blue Reuse & Repair
Student Activities
Join True Blue Reuse & Repair for a mending workshop in partnership with Residence Life! Volunteers will teach you how to extend the life of your clothes through patchwork, zipper repair, visible mending, and embroidery. You are encouraged (but not required) to bring your own items for repair. All materials necessary for your repairs will be provided.

This program brings people together to explore how different perspectives can exist around one thing—like a food, a word, or a behavior. It’s part of a series designed to spark conversation, connect students, and support learning through themed experiences and campus collaboration.
Community Rakes & Shovels Leaf Raking Sessions

This season, we are arranging raking shifts that volunteer can sign up for. We will be going out on a regular basis after the leaves start falling. After submitting your registration form, we will give you access to the shifts. Are you part of a club or group that is looking for a service project? Feel free to share the shifts with them too!
Community Rakes & Shovels was created in response to needs expressed by community members. The Christensen Office of Service & Sustainability coordinates requests for services from local senior citizens and community member with disabilities while connecting them to volunteers who would like to provide raking or snow shoveling services throughout the fall and winter.
Feel Good Fridays with CARE

Turkey Trot

This is a fun run/walk 5k on Friday, November 14th at 4:15pm. Join us with your family and friends as we take you through our beautiful campus! Registration is $10! Students, log-in with your A# to get your discount price of $5. We will have awards for the top three female and male finishers. All participants will receive a shirt and race bib when you register and show up to the race.
Plant-Based Potluck

Come to a plant-based potluck on Friday, November 14, hosted by Student Sustainability Club and Culinary Arts Club! We will meet in the USUSA Clubhouse on the third floor of the TSC at 5:30pm. Clubs will provide some food, and we would love for you to bring a vegetarian dish or drink to share as well. We'll also briefly discuss how eating plant-based and vegetarian meals can contribute to environmental sustainability. RSVP and let us know what you'll be bringing at the link provided below.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Training

The purpose of the American Red Cross BLS course is to train healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, EMS professionals, and other healthcare and public safety personnel to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Core Skills: Rapid assessment and visual survey; CPR/AED for adults, children, and infants; obstructed airways; opioid overdoses; critical thinking, problem solving, communication and teamwork; the Emergency Medical Services System; legal considerations
