Cache Valley Historic Home Tour on Sept. 13 to Benefit Local History Students
The Micah and Joy Coombs home, built 1914, will be part of the 2025 Cache Valley Historic Homes Tour on Sept. 13.
The Cache Valley Historic Home Tour will return this September, featuring six homes in Logan and Wellsville.
The tour, presented by the Cache Valley Historical Society and Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 13.
Proceeds will fund a Cache Valley Historical Society scholarship that supports Utah State University students researching local history, as well as provide transportation for local school children to visit the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville where they can experience hands-on living history.
“It’s a rare opportunity to experience our heritage and our history as reflected in the architecture of these homes,” said Scott Bushman, Cache Valley Historical Society board member.
The homes on this year’s tour were built from 1869-1914. Their individual architectural styles are representative of the Craftsmen-style Bungalow, Queen Anne, Victorian Eclectic, Arts and Crafts Side Passage and Double Pile I Form. Stylistic elements include original gingerbread woodwork, original cast iron fireplaces and locally quarried stone.
Homes featured on this year’s tour include:
- The Arlan and Lee Brandt home, built in 1869 by Joseph Howell at 30 S. 100 East in Wellsville.
- The Tianna and Will Brummond home, built in 1895 by the Leishman family at 151 S. Center St. in Wellsville.
- The Gene and Christie Needham home, built in 1907 by Lorenzo Hansen at 33 S. 100 West in Logan.
- The Sharydon and Jordon Meek home, built in 1909 by Michael Archibald Hendry at 83 W. 100 North in Wellsville.
- The Tranette Carlisle home, built in 1909 by Matilda Salisbury at 347 W. Center St. in Logan.
- The Micah and Joy Coombs home, built 1914 by the Humpherys family at 281 S. 100 East in Logan.
This year’s bonus feature is the recently restored Federal Building, 160 N. Main in Logan, which is home to the Cache Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum and Northern Title.
Tickets cost $15 and are available at each home the day of the event (cash or Venmo). Visitors are encouraged to carpool and to wear comfortable walking shoes.
