Video by Taylor Emerson, Digital Journalist, University Marketing & Communications

November marks Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the first people who called this land home and whose stories have been interwoven with this region for centuries. Utah State University’s Blanding campus has a daily reminder of this legacy, as Native American students make up 72% of campus.

"As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month, we at USU Blanding reflect on the incredible journey we’ve been privileged to be a part of — supporting Native American students as they pursue their dreams and chart paths that will lead them to make profound contributions to their communities and beyond," said USU Blanding Senior Associate Vice President, Kristian Olsen.

Alumni featured in the video:

  • Hunter Warren from Red Mesa, Utah. Has a bachelors degree from Utah State and a Masters of Social Work degree from Utah State. Earned both at the Blanding campus.
  • Autumn Keith, also from Red Mesa. Earned her RN from Utah State while attending the Blanding campus.
