Nobel Laureate Physicist, Educator Talk 'Lasers, Time, Relativity, Career'

The Utah State University community is invited to hear insights about lasers, time, relativity and career pursuits from Nobel Laureate John L. “Jan” Hall and educator Lindy Hall Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the Animal Science Building, Room 118. All are welcome and refreshments follow the talk.
“This is a unique opportunity to hear about out-of-this world science, along with down-to-earth career advice,” says Jan Sojka, head of USU’s Department of Physics, which is hosting the campus-wide event.
Jan Hall and Lindy Hall, who are married, will share experiences and wisdom gained from their respective careers.
Jan Hall, a National Institute of Standards and Technology Senior Fellow, shared one fourth of the 2015 Novel Prize in Physics for his work in precision spectroscopy. He presents “Lasers, Time and Einstein’s Relativity” during the April 17 gathering.
Lindy Hall, a librarian, teacher and curriculum specialist, will join Jan in discussing how to prepare for opportunities beyond college.
