USU Society of Physics Students Presents 'Mythbusting Night' April 10
USU's Society of Physics Students presents 'Mythbusting Night’ Friday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in Eccles Science Learning Center Auditorium. Admission is free to the family friendly event.
Myth or Fact: Can a penny dropped from the top of the Empire State Building kill someone?
Assertions such as this will be tested Friday, April 10, at “Mythbusting Night,” an event hosted by Utah State University’s Society of Physics Students chapter. The gathering, free and open to all, begins at 7 p.m. in the Eccles Science Learning Center Emert Auditorium, Room 130, on the USU campus.
“We had so much fun and such a great turn-out at last year’s event, people begged us to do it again,” says Vanessa Chambers, outreach coordinator for the chapter. “This is a great way for all ages to enjoy science together.”
The event is modeled on the popular Discovery Channel television series, “MythBusters.”
Hands-on learning activities follow the presentation, where attendees can test ‘myths’ on their own.
Parking for the event is available in the university terraces at 700 E. 600 North and 850 E. 700 North and in the surface lot south of Old Main on USU’s Logan campus. The Eccles Science Learning Center is located south of the Taggart Student Center.
