Season’s Greetings! As we reflect on the past year, we recognize and thank you for being A Bolder Way Forward (BWF) Advocate. Your support has been crucial to this movement and our continued efforts to make Utah a place where all women and girls thrive!

We are pleased to share the following announcements in this month’s newsletter:

Check Out Impact Team Updates: We have published our first edition of Impact Team Updates online! This is a quick way to see what each are focused on and share with others who want to engage. We will be posting updates from Impact Teams every other m onth and will have a new BWF Blog webpage in January to share these and similar updates from Spokes and County Coalitions.

Happenings in County Coalitions: The coalitions are finalizing County Spoke Representatives this month with Leadership Development, Home & Family, and Health Across the Lifespan Spokes. Spoke Facilitators have begun scheduling and holding meetings as the County Representative Communities (CRC) get underway, building collaboration and synergy across the state. Please visit your county's webpage to share your desire to advance the work in your county in one of those spokes or overall.

New Research: Earlier this month, we released a policy brief on The Status of Women Leaders in Government – Utah Cities and Towns: A 2024 Update. This important research is critical to spoke goals in both Political & Civic Representation and Leadership Development.

BWF City Resolution: We are thrilled to share that the North Salt Lake City Council recently passed a resolution supporting the mission of the statewide initiative of "A Bolder Way Forward" (BWF) to help more women and girls thrive in Utah. As part of the City's focus on overall health and wellness in our community, this framework addresses areas such as improving health and wellbeing, freedom of safety and security, equal representation in the community, access and opportunity for education, and successful employment in fair and equitable workplaces. North Salt Lake City is the first Utah city to adopt a resolution supporting BWF, declaring its commitment to encourage and promote the mission of a BWF and to enhance the well-being and quality of life for women and girls, and as a result, for all residents. We encourage and welcome other cities to pass similar resolutions to become a “BWF City”!
