The Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) at Utah State University has released a groundbreaking white paper, The Roots of Sexual Violence in Utah: A Framework for Understanding Harm, offering the most comprehensive synthesis to date of why sexual violence remains pervasive in the state and what cultural, structural, and attitudinal factors allow it to persist.

This report highlights key research areas, including political and civic engagement, education, health and well-being, safety and security, and the workplace.

Utah Women & Leadership Project has released the third of six white papers that share the results of a comprehensive statewide study conducted in the fall of 2024.

Preventing and otherwise reducing domestic violence rates will improve the health and well-being of women and families in Utah and strengthen the positive impact of women in their communities and the state.

With the high rates of sexual assault in Utah, continued research on adult and child sexual assault cases is critically important. Research can inform both practice and policy to improve care for sexual assault survivors and reduce sexual violence throughout Utah.

Despite public perceptions that human trafficking is only an international problem, it occurs in the United States and even within urban and rural areas of Utah.
