When publishing content online, it’s important to ensure that it is accessible and inclusive for all users. If you manage web content at Utah State University, you have access to a number of tools that will help you identify and fix accessibility issues on your websites.
Web Accessibility Support
If you're new to accessibility, we recommend reviewing the information on our accessibility basics page. Creating or editing existing web content to be accessible can be overwhelming because there are many issues to consider and address. You can start by reaching out to the Digital Accessibility Services team to review your websites and by checking out the tools below. The USU Websites & Design team is also a great resource for any questions you have about accessibility for Modern Campus sites. They have a great overview of web accessibility.
Accessibility Tools
Pope Tech is our primary enterprise accessibility tool that regularly checks for accessibility issues across your entire website or websites. This helps you track your progress over time.
The WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool provides a quick way to check a single web page for accessibility. It can be accessed online or as a browser extension.
Manual testing is a quick way to check how people experience your website. Try moving through your site using only a keyboard, listening with a screen reader, or checking that links and headings make sense out of context. These simple checks help catch issues that automated tools can miss.
