About This Degree

Students enrolled in this degree program will complete a professional core of courses related to technology and engineering education, and career and technical education.

This degree program can be completed online or on campus. A thesis is required. Students completing this degree online will need to meet virtually or in person with their chair and committee members on a regular basis to complete their thesis research. This degree is recommend for those who will be working in an area of education requiring research in addition to teaching or those seeking a PhD.

What You Will Learn

While this degree does not result in a teaching license for public schools, students will develop skills in the areas of instruction, program planning, evaluation and research related to research methodology and statistical applications.

Admission

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a background in education. There may be some prerequisite courses required to make up for deficiencies in the student’s undergraduate transcript, which will be determined by the department.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete the online application
  • Pay the $55 application fee
  • Have a 3.0 or higher GPA on your last 60 semester or 90 quarter credits
  • Provide transcripts of all college/university credits
  • Provide three contacts for letters of recommendation

International students have additional admissions requirements.

Financial Aid

The department is generally able to fund all full-time MS students with teaching and research assistantships.
