Good Standing in the University Honors Program

“Good standing” is defined as making required progress toward Honors graduation and meeting commitments to the program. Students in good standing are eligible for many benefits, including early registration, Honors Research and Travel Funding, and Honors Scholarships.

Good standing is assessed according to the criteria below. Please note that early registration is given to any student meeting basic point thresholds, which are checked for progress in both fall and spring terms.

A student’s good standing within the University Honors Program can be assessed at any time to determine eligibility for any benefit or funding.

University Honors Program Good Standing Criteria

Meet the following point thresholds and requirements
  • Year 1: Bring point total to 5-10, including the completion of Module 1 and 2 in the Honors Experience Canvas Course
  • Year 2: Bring point total to 10-15
  • Year 3: Bring point total to 15-20
  • Year 4: Bring point total to 20-28
Students need 28 points to graduate with University Honors. By the end of year four, they should have earned 20-27 points (if they are not yet graduating) or 28 points if they are graduating.
