The University Honors Program runs two mentoring programs that facilitate monthly conversations (by email, phone, Zoom, or even in person) between our alumni and students. The program helps focus this mentor-student communication by giving students specific topics and guidelines and ensuring monthly connection with their mentors. The topics of the check-ins range from general discussions about the value of Honors to more specific professional tasks (such as creating a resume, building a professional network, interviewing effectively, and using social media professionally).
Academic Year (September-April)
Fosters year-long professional relationships between Honors juniors or seniors and alumni mentors, helping to build and sustain our Honors alumni network.
Spring Semester (January-April)
Pairs first- and second-year students with Honors alumni and introduces students to alumni mentoring with three targeted, yet casual conversations over the course of one semester.
In addition to these programs, Honors also supports a LinkedIn group, and we would be happy to contact students about any internship or job opportunities that you would like to publicize. Please send specific inquiries and/or information to our Executive Director, Kristine Miller or the Honors Program.
