The University Honors Program seeks applications to join the Honors Experiential Learning Collaborative. Participants will attend monthly meetings (in August, September, and October) during the fall 2026 semester, which will be scheduled both in person and on Zoom. Faculty members must participate in this workshop series before applying to teach in the University Honors Program on a three-year Honors Faculty Fellowship.
This second annual Experiential Learning Collaborative will work once again to create a network of outstanding teachers and mentors who share a deep commitment to high-impact applied learning. Because faculty will differ in their interests and approaches to experiential learning, conversations will range widely across topics that might include lab, field, or practicum work; research, creative work, or artistic expression; community engagement; internships and professional development; and global learning. Through cross-disciplinary idea-sharing and partnership-building, participants will innovate together for the benefit of students in their departments, colleges, and the University Honors Program.

Goals
By continuing this collaborative into a second year, the University Honors Program aims to:
Recognize Excellence
Celebrate the accomplishments of imaginative faculty who are leaders and innovators in teaching and mentoring at USU.
Foster Collaboration
Create space for cross-disciplinary pedagogical conversation and collaboration.
Support Innovation
Empower individual faculty to bring new ideas and potential interdisciplinary partnerships back to their departments, colleges, and campuses.
Expand Curriculum
Prepare interested cohort members to apply in November 2026 for a three-year Honors Faculty Fellowship.
How to Apply
Outstanding faculty members of any rank and on any campus are encouraged to submit application materials by Monday, March 30, 2026.
Applications must include a pedagogy-focused CV and a letter of interest. Both documents should specifically and directly address the requirements for appointment as a member of the Honors Experiential Learning Collaborative:
Teaching & Mentoring
Document a record of outstanding or promising undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
Cross-disciplinary Work
Show proven ability to collaborate and work across disciplines.
Applied Learning
Include evidence of innovative approaches to applied learning.
