The University Honors Access Scholarship is for Honors students with demonstrated academic merit, financial need, and capacity to excel in college. Recognizing the potential of all Honors students to become positive change agents and global citizens, this scholarship aims to support students as they realize that potential. The program welcomes applications from all Honors students and encourages first-generation college students (neither parent graduated with a bachelor’s degree or higher) and those who have demonstrated resilience in the face of any kind of adversity to apply.
Eligibility:
Current, active, and engaged USU Honors students with a minimum 3.25 cumulative/USU GPA are eligible to apply. Incoming first-year students with a minimum 3.25 high school GPA may indicate interest on their application to the University Honors Program.
Selection Criteria:
- Overall academic merit as indicated by cumulative/USU GPA and/or university honors and awards
- Evidence of appropriate progress toward graduation with Honors or potential to do so (for incoming students)
- Preference given to first-generation college students and applicants whose essays demonstrate specific need for support in reaching their potential as Honors change agents and global citizens.
