First Semester Registration

We're thrilled for you to dive into new classes, connect with inspiring professors, and start building an incredible legacy!

This website is designed to guide you through the registration process. Module 2 of orientation is dedicated to registration and provides a step-by-step walkthrough. If you haven't completed it yet, make sure to do so first. A hold will remain on your account until Module 2 is finished, preventing you from registering for classes.

Registration Help

Ensure modules 1 & 2 of the online orientation are complete to avoid a hold on your account.

Before registering for classes, completed modules 1 and 2 of the online orientation. If you have additional questions, schedule a meeting with your Onboarding specialist - a current student trained to assist with registration. On registration nights, the Orientation Office will have extended hours, and your Onboarding specialist will be available to answer questions via text and email

Transfer Credits and Test Scores

Make sure to send your transfer credits or test scores to Utah State prior to registration to ensure that you can take the right courses for you. If you are still in current college classes, AP classes, or concurrent enrollment, send your final transcript to USU before: Fall Students - August 1 and Spring Students – December 1.

If you need to register for a course that requires prerequisites that you have already earned, but are not yet in the USU system, please fill out an override request. Remember this is only a temporary override request. All prerequisites must be sent to the Admissions Office and applied to your USU account by: Fall Students - August 1 and Spring Students – December 1.

Breadth Education

General Education courses are an essential part of your degree and are required for graduation. Plan to take at least one of these courses each semester until you've completed them all.

Common Registration Terms

When registering for classes, you might come across some unfamiliar terms. Don't worry - our Registration Glossary is here to help! It provides clear definitions for common terms like "prerequisite," "CRN," and "breadth courses," making the registration process easier to navigate.
