McKayla Freeman Awarded USU Dining Services April Employee of the Month

McKayla Freeman accepts her plaque for USU Dining Services Employee of the Month.

McKayla Freeman, an employee of Luke’s Café on the Quad at Utah State University, was recently selected to be the Dining Services employee of the Month for April. This selection was based on Dining Service’s core value of teamwork. To Dining Services, teamwork means to be always there for one another. Dining Services understands the impact of what they do in other organizations within, as well as outside of Dining Services. Success can never be built upon failure elsewhere. Win-win situations lead to a greater success for the whole and everyone within the organization can be counted on by everyone.

Freeman was nominated by several co-workers at Luke’s Café who said the following:

“McKayla always has a positive attitude at work, and is always willing to help out if there is a rush. One moment I remember in particular is when I came in to close and McKayla stayed five minutes longer because a huge rush came.” – Abbey Swenson

“Great teammate to work with. Always fits right in and does amazing in any job that she does.” – Caitlyn Taylor

“Mckayla is the epitome of teamwork. She always shows up five minutes before her shift starts so that she can change and clock in right when she's supposed to be there. She never complains about her work and brings a good vibe to the cafe and those around her. Mckayla is proactive; she does things without being asked and doesn't need a lot of direction, which makes the work of everyone around her go more smoothly as well. She is always willing to do anything to help and is kind to every member of the team, as well as being extremely hilarious. Mckayla is such a great team member and I always enjoy when I get to work with her!” - Mackenzie Wilson

“She's an awesome worker who is always on top of it.” - Abbie Rogers

“She is always on the ball with absolutely EVERYTHING that goes on during the day. She is always willing to pick up thin gs where other people are slacking off, and that makes it so much easier to work. Seriously, especially when we have to do change outs or dishes or anything, she is always the first one to volunteer, and the first one to think about the check list. She is the definition of a team player for sure. She is awesome! She totally 100 percent deserves the employee of the month, especially for teamwork. Give it to her! She totally deserves it!” – Ben Watteyne

“She is always able to help when we are super busy. Love her!!“ - Katelin McCrary

“She is an amazing employee and I will agree with everything that has been said. She helps me with my management when I'm there and has made my transition to Luke's easier. She is always willing to help her coworkers and myself, making each day she is there a better day.” -- Eric Lott, manager

USU Dining Services is proud to have Freeman as an example of Teamwork for all employees throughout Dining Services. She was awarded a $50 Aggie Express card as well as a plaque.
