LOGAN, Utah — The Program on Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University has awarded Utah State University $747,310 Institutional Impact Grant through the Educating Character Initiative (ECI), supported by Lilly Endowment Inc.

The funding will help advance the Heravi Peace Institute’s “Character of Peace” curriculum across USU’s Logan and statewide campuses.

Since 2023, the Heravi Peace Institute (HPI) has partnered with the ECI to explore the character traits essential to peacebuilders facing today’s social and global challenges. The ECI fosters a network of colleges and universities committed to character education by supporting research, resources, and national conferences.

Over the next three years, the HPI will use the grant to expand its Conversational Space Makers Program and integrate its core courses into USU’s general education curriculum.
