June 2026 Newsletter - A Bolder Way Forward
June Newsletter for A Bolder Way Forward.
A Bolder Way Forward Advocates,
Good morning! Below are key updates from the past quarter on A Bolder Way Forward (BWF), highlighting ongoing progress and impact:
Quarterly Forum: If you haven’t already, we invite you to register for the upcoming BWF Quarterly Impact Forum on June 29, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. This virtual session will share the latest updates, highlight meaningful insights, and showcase progress happening statewide. Whether you have been engaged from the beginning or are newly connected, this forum offers a valuable opportunity to stay aligned with the broader effort, find inspiration, and explore ways to deepen your impact.
Latest Research: Since our last newsletter, the UWLP has published 6 new research reports. Today, we’ve released a new white paper today on The Roots of Sexual Violence in Utah: A Framework for Understanding Harm. Other new reports include:
Spoke & Belonging Team Updates: Explore the Resource Library, where curated resource kits are available for each BWF spoke and other related topics. These have been developed in collaboration with spoke and belonging team advisors, and offer centralized access to relevant reports, tools, and links to support continued progress. Each spoke webpage has been updated with new metric dashboards reflecting perceptions and data from the 2025 Fall Survey. These are filterable by several demographics and provide insight into how understanding and awareness are shifting. Over the upcoming months, all 18 metric dashboards related to spoke goals will be updated as well.
Local Updates: Grassroots work continues at the county level, with regions being an important part. Counties are now organized into seven regions and supported by part-time UWLP regional coordinators who help with connections, partners, social media, and consistency, and are a resident of the region. Read the quarterly BWF Regional Coalition Update to learn more.
Podcasts: We’re wrapping up our Fall Survey reporting with new podcast episodes featuring insights from the 2025 data. Listen in as Dr. Madsen, Spoke Advisors, and other leaders discuss Domestic Violence & Poverty and Homelessness, Higher Education Attainment & K-12 Initiatives, STEM Fields & Leadership Development, Finance & Home and Family, Health Across the Lifespan, Male Allyship, Political and Civic Representation
Movement-Wide Awareness Campaigns: Visit our new page for campaign resources to help you participate in raising awareness about each area of focus. For June, you’ll find campaign resources on Male Allyship Awareness - Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing male allies across the state! In August, we will post resources for Education Awareness Month. In addition to using the campaign resources, it is a great time to review the Calls to Action related to these topics.
Research Opportunity: The Utah Women & Leadership Project at Utah State University is conducting a confidential study on how faith communities support—or fail to support—women during times of crisis or trauma (USU IRB 16107). Women (18+) who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, divorce, or another major life disruption while participating in a faith community may choose to participate. Interviews will be one 60-90 minute interview in person or via Zoom. If you are interested, you can take a brief screening survey, or learn more by contacting Dr. Susan R. Madsen (susan.madsen@usu.edu).
