Synopsis

Homeboy Industries is an amazing organization. Begun by Jesuit Priest, Gregory Boyle, it is one of the most successful gang rehabilitation programs in the world. Based in Los Angeles, it has a variety of businesses that former gang members run as they leave the gang life behind. Thomas Vozzo is currently their CEO. He tells his story of being in the private sector and how he came to be with Homeboy Industries. I am intrigued by this book because it talks a bit more about the business side of Homeboy Industries while also helping everyone understand the most important part: the human beings who are working to better their lives. They believe that as we locate ourselves with those in the margins, we don't rescue them. Rather, by locating ourselves with them, we all find rescue.
