Plan for Earning the Associate with Honors

The Associate with Honors transcript designation requires students to earn 14 points over two years.

By the end of each year, students completing an Associate with Honors designation should have earned the following number of points:

Year 1
5-7 points

Focused on introductory experiences, HONR 1900: Honors Associate Portfolio Preparation, an Honors Honors Gen Ed Breadth course, and co-curricular activities.

Year 2
7-9 points

Focused on at least one Honors Mentoring Agreement (HMA), Honors-in-Practice experiences, and the Honors Associate Capstone Portfolio completion.

Students should work with their Honors Academic Advisor to create an individualized plan for completing the Associate with Honors program.

Additional Requirements

Choose from the following to earn a total of 3 additional Honors points (can be earned in any semester):

  • Attend and reflect on 4 additional co-curricular activities (up to 2 points)
  • Take an additional Honors course (up to 3 points)
  • Complete additional Honors-in-Practice experiences, including HMAs and/or structured Honors experiences such as Honors Book Labs, Honors Alumni Connect, and the Honors Leadership Academy (up to 3 points)
