Waitlist

We do not keep a waiting list for specific buildings or room types. However, beginning April 1, the housing contract sign-up process transitions to a campus-wide waitlist system. Spaces are offered as they become available until move-ins.

In an effort to offer spaces in a timely manner to those on the waiting list, offer emails will be sent to your USU email address (usu.edu).  You will be given 24 hours to complete the online contract process once an email is received.

  • Waitlist offers will begin on May 1
  • All waitlist correspondence will be sent to your USU email account. Be sure to check email often for updates.
  • Being added to the waiting list does not guarantee that the you will receive a housing offer.
  • Placement on the list will be determined by submission date and time.
  • When you reach the top of the list and is sent an email offer, you have 24 hours to complete the online contract process and select a room.
  • Offers are sent Monday and Wednesday of each week to your USU email account.
  • The waitlist is not for those who currently have an on-campus housing contract and are looking to do a building and/or room change.
  • If you do not complete contract process within 24 hours of email offer, you will be removed from the list.
  • This waitlist process is not intended for students with existing housing contracts. Those wishing to make building or room changes can do so through the room change process accessed through the Housing Portal.

Payment

Housing and meal plan (if required) charges are included on your University account along with tuition and fees.  Review our Housing Rates and Dates page for more information.

Current Residents

We recognize students want to live on campus multiple years and will do all we can to accommodate people. Please keep in mind there is a limited number of bed spaces reserved for current residents.

Current residents who are interested in living on campus for the 2023-2024 academic year will be required to complete the initial online contract process including payment of the $75 non-refundable contract fee March 27-29.  Residents who desire to retain their same space will be randomly assigned a selection time on April 3. All others will receive a randomly-generated selection date and time to choose their building and bed space between April 4-5.

If a bed space is not selected during the room selection process, your housing contract may be cancelled.
