USU Online Student Handbook | Admission

There are two options for admission, Quick Admission which is free, and Full Admission in which you must pay an application fee. You can enroll in courses via either method, but in order to obtain a degree, you must be fully admitted.

Quick Admission (non-degree seeking)

Quick Admission is best for students who have missed application deadlines or who just want to take some classes to transfer to another university or for personal development. The process usually takes 1-2 business days and it free. You can still formally apply at a later date.

However, until you are fully admitted to the university, you cannot receive financial aid. In addition, you can only take a limited number of credits until you must be fully admitted to the university to complete your degree.

Apply for Quick Admission

Full Admission

To become fully admitted, you must complete a standard Undergraduate or Graduate admission application. After you are fully admitted, you may apply for financial aid and complete your degree.

After admission through either method, you may register for courses during open registration times. More registration information is contained in this online handbook.

International Student Limitations

International students studying at USU on the F-1 or J-1 visa must have the majority of their classes each semester be face-to-face in order to meet the physical presence requirement to maintain their visa status. Students on the F-1 visa must enroll in classes at the Logan or USU Eastern campuses. Students on the J-1 visa must enroll in classes at the Logan campus.
