View Turnitin Results in Canvas as an Instructor
When students submit a Turnitin assignment in Canvas, Turnitin generates an originality report and similarity index that lets the instructor know of much of the assignment is original. Whether the results appear to students depends on the settings selected when setting up the Turnitin assignment.
There are a number of ways to view a Turnitin report for an assignment.
Navigate to the assignment page in Canvas and click the SpeedGrader button
Turnitin similarity scores appear in the SpeedGrader in a colored bubble
The percentage represents the proportion of the submission that matches files in the Turnitin database.
Click on the colored bubble to open the Turnitin Feedback Studio and view the Turnitin originality report
Navigate to the assignment in the Canvas gradebook by clicking Grades in the side navigation, then scroll to the assignment's column
You will see that the submissions will be accompanied with a colored bubble, which indicates that the Turnitin report is available for the assignment. See Interpreting the meaning of the colors for the percentage range the various colors represent.
Click on the colored icon next to the desired submission
Click the right arrow that appears
Select SpeedGrader in the revealed panel
Click on the percentage in the panel on the right
The Turnitin Review Tool will open
