Workshop / Counseling and Psychological Services

Come take a brief measure of anxiety to learn more about how you handle stress. Professional therapists from Counseling and Psychological Services will interactively help you to learn how to better handle anxiety, worry, and stress. Students who have attended these events in the past have described feeling better able to handle academic, social, and work related stress better as a result of attending.

10:00 am - 11:00 am    Little Naturalist: Story Time at Swaner

Little Naturalists is a program that helps 3-5 year olds learn about and explore the natural world. October 7: Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert and Leaf Jumpers by Carole Gerber. Recognize different leaf patterns by matching one half of a leaf to another. Fall leaf printing activity. Pre-registration for each program appreciated, but not required. $2 per family per program, or buy a $15 punch card good for 8 programs (only one punch card required per family). The BRIDGES is a drop-in support group that is designed to provide a safe place for all multicultural and international students to share their thoughts and feelings with other students who may be having similar experiences. Students are free to discuss a variety of issues on campus or in society, such as: culture, race, ethnicity, identity,relationships, challenges, successes, etc. Staff from CAPS and the Access & Diversity Center lead discussions about topics that multicultural students bring up, and everyone can gain insight from and give support to their peers in a setting that is casual and confidential.
