Intramural Season 1 Registration Opens

Registration for season 1 of spring Intramurals is open! Offerings include indoor volleyball and 5v5 basketball. Grab a $30 all-sports pass and get access to all leagues and tournaments for the semester. Just want to play one sport? Grab the single sports pass for $15. Buy your pass online and then make your team in the Fusion Play App. Registration will close on January 22nd.
Free Week - Group Fitness Classes

Ever wanted to check out a group fitness class or try a new instructor at the ARC? This is your week! All group fitness classes, from pilates to weightlifting to spin, are free for the entire first week of the spring semester. Tune n' Wax Clinic

Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Course
Workshop/Training
This is an American Red Cross course for certification in CPR, AED & First Aid. Class will take place in the Aggie Recreation Center on the 2nd floor in the IT room.
Lifeguard Recertification Course
Workshop/Training
American Red Cross recertification course for Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED. Fee includes instructor time and certification cards. Participants must provide a CPR mask, whistle & e-book (free to print online or bring device to class). This is a blended learning course. The in-person portion will be on January 9th and 10th. Registration closes on January 2nd at recportal.usu.edu.
Small Group Training Classes Start

Utah State Campus Recreation’s small group training (SGT) offers hands-on fitness instruction/training while in a group environment. It blends personal training with group fitness, where during the 5-week series, participants can expect tailored progressive instruction relative to the class. Our first block is offering an intro to powerlifting and an upbeat pilates class. Only 10 spots are available for each class, allowing for hands-on training with instructors. Classes are free the first week before registration is required, and it is a great way to try out the class.
Free "Clean Eating" Nutrition Workshop

Join Campus Recreation for the first nutrition workshop of the spring semester! This time, we're talking all about clean eating. Smart fueling, simple whole-food choices without the all-or-nothing. Workshops are free and located in the ARC at the nutrition office. This presentation will be on January 13th, starting at 4pm. Registration is limited, so grab your spot beforehand on recportal.usu.edu under nutrition services.

Wednesday Workshop: What's in your winter backcountry pack?

Join Outdoor Programs on January 14th for our first Wednesday Workshop of the semester. Tonight we'll go over what should be in your winter backcountry pack, making sure you're prepared and ready to get out in the snow. The workshop is free and will start at 7pm in the Outdoor Programs rental shop in the ARC.
Logan Canyon Cross Country Skiing

We're headed up the canyon for our first cross-country ski trip of the season! We'll cover logistics, transportation, and leadership - just simply show up. Beginners are welcome. $20 students, $30 fac/staff/student guest
Intro Backcountry Ski Tour

Let's get into the backcountry! Head up into Logan Canyon with Outdoor Programs on our first backcountry trip of the year. We'll head out early in the morning and spend the day on the mountain. AT ski or splitboard packages are available if needed for $10. Spots are limited, so make sure to register beforehand; it closes on the 14th.

Not sure what Sweat Day means? We've got you. Join us on Saturday, January 17th, for 3 hours packed full of group fitness classes that'll make you sweat! Registration will give you access to all classes being offered. You'll get to pick from our lineup of various classes that rotate every hour. Don't worry, we'll have snacks to keep you energized & all participants get a free Sweat Day t-shirt! Registration is $5 with a group fitness pass or $10 without. Grab a friend or come solo, we welcome everyone! No prior experience or equipment required.

NCAA Esports Football Tournament

College football season doesn't end in the fall, it just moves into Esports form! Join us at the ARC on the 2nd floor, in the IT room, for our first tournament of the spring semester. Whether you're a pro or just want to play for fun, this is your place. The cost is just $5 and you can register day of or on the Fusion Play App!

Pilates Burn & Beats - Upbeat Pilates

Get that burn going with us and our Pilates Burn & Beats event on January 29th! This will be a pilates class with a bit of an upbeat twist. No prior experience or equipment required, everyone is welcome! The class will start at 7pm in the Loft at the ARC. Come early to grab your equipment and get a spot. Registration will open on December 29th and is free with a group fitness pass or just $5 without. Grab a spot online at recportal.usu.edu under special events.
Blind Hollow Yurt Backcountry Ski Trip

We are heading up to the Blind Hollow yurt to spend the weekend (January 30th - February 1st), enjoying the Bear River backcountry. We will explore some of the fantastic riding terrain around Blind Hollow and spend the evenings around the fire in the comforts of the OP's yurt. Prior backcountry experience is recommended and participants must be expert/advanced riders (able to comfortably ride black diamond western resort terrain). Participants must also be in good physical condition and prepared for strenuous uphill hiking. Winter backcountry travel equipment (Alpine Touring, Telemark, Splitboard) is required and available to rent from the OP for a nominal fee. NO SNOWSHOES.

Esports Open House

Did you know that Utah State has an Esports Arena? Where you can play video, computer and board games? Well, if you didn't know, now you can find out as we're hosting an open house on January 30th from 5-11pm. The Esports Arena is located next to Maverick Stadium in the old Distribution Center. The space will be open and free to all. Come by for an hour or stay the whole time. Bring your friends and come play!
