Vision Statement

Campus Recreation will provide various recreational programs and services to engage the campus community.

  1. Play: We strive to create spaces where recreation can be enjoyed as co-curricular experiences that strengthen and broaden student learning outside the classroom.
  2. Wellness: We value a community that encourages a balanced life, healthy choices and an environment that facilitates a sense of belonging for every student.
  3. Adventure: We create experiential learning opportunities for the development of each student and the USU community through a safe and supportive environment.
  4. Community: We value opportunities in which every individual is welcomed and affirmed and where we seek to understand, respect, and celebrate our differences.
  5. Development: We expand the capacity of students to develop life-long skills to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle for the benefit of themselves and others.

Continuous Improvement

The Aggie Recreation Center opened November 19, 2015.  As a department, we are committed to continued assessment of the overall department and individual programs and services. Our goal is to ensure that, as a department, Campus Recreation offers the programming and services that our students desire while contributing to the success of the overall goals and success of the Division of Student Affairs. We utilize data to ensure that we are in-line with best practices regionally and nationally and are operating sustainable programs. Some performance reports are available through this website, others are available upon request through the Associate Director of Campus Recreation.

Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education: NIRSA- Leaders in Collegiate Recreation is a proud member of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). CAS promotes standards in student affairs, student services, and student development programs in order to maximize the quality and effectiveness of higher education services.
