Intent-to-Transfer Agreement

The Intent-to-Transfer Agreement is a specialized transfer agreement that guarantees admission and transfer of credit to Utah State University. In the Intent-to-Transfer agreement, students who follow a specific course of study and graduate from an eligible program with the required cumulative grade point average (GPA) and prerequisites, are guaranteed admission to Utah State and into their major. Students who apply will have access to services and expertise at each school, greatly expanding their resources and options. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with academic advisors at Utah State to ensure that every course taken at their current institution counts towards their Bachelor's Degree.

Currently, Utah State University has the Intent-to-Transfer agreement with the following institutions:

Benefits to you:

  • You will know what your chosen degree program specifically requires before attending Utah State.
  • You will be assured that graduation requirements will not change once you've committed to the Intent-to-Transfer.
  • You will have the confidence of knowing that every course you take will count toward degree completion at Utah State.
  • You can connect with your academic advisor, as well as department faculty and staff, earlier and become aware of academic opportunities within your discipline.
  • You will experience effective academic advising at both institutions as well as career exploration and counseling at Utah State.
  • You will experience less "transfer shock" when you arrive at Utah State, because of prior preparation.
  • You can become an Aggie while attending your current institution (complete with Aggie gear from Utah State).
  • You will be given one-on-one opportunities to talk to USU representatives on your campus.

Maintain at least a 3.6 GPA at your current school and be guaranteed a scholarship to Utah State.

Students transferring to Utah State University will achieve maximum preparation for transfer while at their current institution.
