Bridging Campus & Community: How Extension Supports Students & Staff

Utah State University Extension connects campus expertise with practical, research-based resources that support student success and personal well-being. In this Front & Center session, Dr. Brian Higginbotham, Associate Vice President for USU Extension, will highlight Extension programs and areas of expertise that might be of interest to students, such as financial well-being, relationships, mental and emotional health, food and nutrition, and community engagement. Participants will learn when and why advisors and other student-facing professionals might consider Extension as a referral or support resource, how Extension complements existing campus services, and how to connect students to Extension resources. The session will showcase Extension resources that directly benefit staff and students alike—such as HealthyRelationshipsUtah.org and StrongerMarriage.org—providing practical tools for strengthening relationships at work, at home, and in the community.
