Arrington Lecture 2025 | Featured speaker Richard Turley

This fall, Utah State University Libraries will host the annual Leonard J. Arrington Mormon History Lecture, featuring distinguished historian Richard E. Turley Jr. His lecture, titled Team History: The Latter-day Saint Historical Enterprise, 1986–2025, will explore how collaboration transformed modern Latter-day Saint history research. Turley, a former managing director of Church History and Family History for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, brings over forty years of experience to the lecture. Drawing from Leonard Arrington’s innovative “team history” model, Turley will discuss how cooperative research has made it possible to address complex historical topics in ways individual scholars could not.
