Climate Adaptation Science (CAS) Science Management Policy Exchange

The Climate Adaptation Science program invites you to this year’s Science Management Policy Exchange event on Friday, Oct 3rd from 9 am to 2:30 pm in the Eccles Conference Center (Rooms 201/203 & 205/207). The theme of this year’s event will be: Who Leads the Change? What it Takes to be a Climate Adaptation Professional. The event will include: • a keynote presentation from Dr. Cathy Whitlock (Regent Professor Emerita, MSU) titled: “Shifting from climate science to climate communication," • featured speaker, Dr. Debra Butler (Executive Director of the American Society of Adaptation Professionals), presenting on: "Transforming adaptation professions and praxes amidst uncertainty and chaos" • a hands-on training session with Drs. Gigi Owen and Rachel Gildersleeve (University of Arizona): “Evaluating the societal impacts of research” o participation is highly encouraged by not required for attendance • a presentation from our very own CAS Cohort #9, presenting their work on the Utah Climate Access Portal • an opportunity to network with the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SWCASC) team, including new associate director, Dr. Aaron Lien (University of Arizona)
