Utah State Student Chapter
The Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society is an organization for students who have an interest in Wildlife. We help prepare students for careers dealing with wildlife by providing hands-on experience. Our chapter's activities include things such as: releases, surveys, habitat work, professional meetings, tours, and specialty fieldtrips. We do a lot with the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) like helping with deer check stations, checking for Chronic Wasting Disease, and helping with the annual youth pheasant hunt. We take annual trips to places like Yellowstone. We also participate in Wildlife Conclave each year, a competition among wildlife students from a variety of universities. We help plan and carry out the Logger's Ball, have socials, and like to have fun! Participating in The Wildlife Society also helps students network with professional wildlife managers, people from other universities and other students. It's a great way to learn and gain experience while doing something you enjoy!
