Two formats were available for play, Best Ball and Scramble. The grand-prize winning team of the Best Ball category earned a spot at the Acura College Alumni Team Championship in October at the Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. Players representing USU at the Acura College Alumni Team Championship are Spencer Jones, Brennan Wright, James Bullington and Jed Rammell from Bailey’s Moving and Storage.

Taking home the title of Scramble winner was the Slaymaker Group, represented by Scott Slaymaker, Mark Andersen, Matt Zullo and Ryan Hyde.

“The tournament gets better each year,” said David Clark, associate vice president for advancement and alumni relations at USU. “Our sponsors are integral to the success of the tournament and participants enjoyed a great day of golfing and networking on the beautiful Ogden Country Club golf course.”

Tournament sponsors also included Liberty Mutual, R & O Construction, Visa, Associated Foods, Eide Bailly, Bailey’s Moving and Storage, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Wadman Corporation, Jones Simkins, CU Direct, General RV of Utah, Rumor Advertising, Slaymaker Group, Get Away Today, Ironwood Construction, Mt. Prizes were donated by Goldenwest Credit Union, Camp Chef, the Utah Jazz, Utah Festival Opera Company, USU’s University Inn and Conference Center, SQN Escapes and Topgolf of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Total proceeds from the 2016 tournament — from sponsorships, donations and team registrations — totaled more than $80,000.
