As a remote student, how can I meet with a tutor?

Step 1: Schedule an appointment

      1. Click on the “Make an Appointment” tab in the left sidebar.
      2. Click on “Register for an account” to create an account with WC ONLINE using your preferred email.
      3. Sign in to WC ONLINE, making sure to select “Science Writing Center” in the drop-down menu. The Science Writing Center schedule will pop up. Make sure that “Science Writing Center” is selected at the top of the screen to ensure that you are looking at the correct schedule.
      4. White boxes represent available appointment times. Click on a time slot that is convenient for you and fill out the information in the appointment window that pops up.

Step 2: Contact the Science Writing Center

    1. Email
      • In the subject line, include “Remote student.”
      • In the email, include your name and the date and time of your appointment.
      • Attach a copy of your document as a pdf or specify when you will be able to email a pdf of your document before your appointment.
      • Please send us your pdf at least one hour before your appointment.
    2. You will receive an email with instructions for how to access the Adobe Connect room where your appointment will take place.
    3. Follow the instructions prior to your appointment to make sure that Adobe Flash Player works on your computer. Email with any questions.
