Transfer Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are limited and will only be awarded to students who apply and qualify by the advertised deadline. Improvements to a GPA, ACT/SAT, or index score will not be considered after the deadline.

To be considered for scholarships, applicants must:

  • Complete online application to USU for fall 2017 (including application fee)
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident Status
  • Have intent to graduate from Utah State University
  • Complete a minimum of 24 post-high school credits at time of the scholarship deadline, January 10, 2017.
    • Students with less than 24 credits: scholarships will be awarded upon a combination of post-high school credits, concurrent enrollment, high school GPA, and ACT/SAT scores.
  • Be a new first-time student to Utah State University. Returning students and 2nd bachelor students do not qualify for academic scholarships. Concurrent enrollment students are still eligible for scholarships.

Transcript Articulation

USU accepts credit from any regionally accredited institution within the U.S. and will try to match credits with courses at USU. The process of finding a course-to-course equivalent is called articulation. If no course match is found, you will receive elective credit for your previous course work. View our course-by-course articulation tables to learn more.

Scholarships are effective for fall 2017 only and are subject to change. Students planning to defer admission to a later semester must apply for fall 2017 to be eligible for scholarships.

All academic scholarships cover a percentage of tuition. Nonresident students will be covered for 1 year at non-resident tuition rates and are encouraged to gain Utah Residency after their first year. Students accepting the WUE and Legacy Waiver are not eligible to establish Utah Residency for tuition purposes.
