You can schedule Zoom office hours just like you would a class session. If you have specific office hours when you are available to meet with students from any class, that meeting link will need to be provided for each class in Canvas.

Schedule a recurring Zoom call and find the meeting ID in Canvas or on the Zoom website

  1. Log into https://usu-edu.zoom.us
  2. Click on the Meetings tab on the left-hand menu
  3. Click on the title of the meeting you want to import into your class
  4. Copy the Meeting ID

Go to your Canvas course(s) and click on the Zoom link in the course navigation

Next to the Schedule a New Meeting button, click on the button with three dots and choose Import meeting from the drop-down menu.

Where prompted, enter the Meeting ID. Then, click on the Import button.

If you do not have a set time for office hours (or if you have a wide variety of times), you can set your office hours to recur at No Fixed Time. The call will then be available to use any time instead of only at specific dates/times. This is also helpful if you have one-on-one meetings with students outside of regular office hours, as you can always use the same link.
Students from all classes will use the same link to join the session. You can enable the waiting room External Link Icon to admit one student into the room at a time, if desired.
