Degrees and Certificates

USU Degree majors, minors, and programs that include a land, water, air, energy, environment, conservation, or climate component

Nearly any major, minor, certificate, or degree program can lead to a career related to environmental stewardship. A business degree may afford you the opportunity in accounting, finance, or operations in a company that is involved in managing natural resources or creating an outdoor or agricultural product. An engineering degree can lead to a career in managing waterways or wastewater, air quality, or community infrastructure and development. A writing and journalism degree can help you become a reporter or content creator on natural resource issues. A teaching degree might open the door to educating young people on a variety of subjects connected to natural resources. Many companies and organizations have some kind of position or department focused on sustainability. You are the most important factor that determines where your path will lead, not your degree program. If you want to be involved with the environment, there are numerous ways to develop your skills and talents that enable you to impact our world for the better.

This list is a starting point for some of the degrees that USU offers with knowledge or skill development required for jobs in land, water, and air environmental stewardship, research or communication on environmental issues, natural resource management or policy making, or sustainability.
