Frequently Asked Questions

Can some students take the exam at the testing center and some with Proctorio?

Yes. In order to do this you will have to make the exam flexible. You can only do this if students have not taken the exam.

1

On the quiz details page (not while editing the page), click on Moderate this Quiz

2

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the button MAKE EXAM FLEXIBLE

This will make the proctoring password visible to you on the quiz details page

3

The last column of the Moderate Quiz page will have a webcam icon at the top of it

Uncheck the box in this column for any students who will need to take the exam in the Testing Center

4

Go to https://testing.usu.edu and enter the exam details and password created by Proctorio

Don't change the password

What if I need to make adjustments after some students have taken an exam with Proctorio?

The Proctorio settings are designed to not be adjusted after students have taken an exam to ensure fairness amongst all test takers. If there is an error, you will need to:

1

Ensure no other students take the original exam by assigning it only to students who have already taken it

Note: You can excuse the student(s) from the exam later by placing an "EX" in the gradebook for that column, if they will be re-taking the exam using the new version.

2

Make a copy of the exam and make the desired changes

3

Assign the copy of the exam to the appropriate students
