Find, Add, or Remove Courses in Canvas

Common questions that we receive from instructors are "How do I remove a course from my dashboard?", "Why is my course not appearing on my Courses list?", "How do I find courses that I previously taught?"

Finding All Enrolled Courses

Canvas stores all of the courses that you have been enrolled in and keeps them in the All Courses link found within the Courses tab on your Canvas navigation.

Adding or Removing Courses from the Dashboard

The courses that appear within your Courses tab are the same set that appear on your Canvas Dashboard. These are the courses in which you are currently enrolled, are active (meaning that the End Date set in the course settings has not yet passed), and/or are bookmarked to appear.

If you are seeing an old course, it is most likely that the course got bookmarked. To remove the bookmark:

  1. Navigate to All Courses
  2. Locate the course
  3. Click on the star icon to activate or deactivate the bookmark

- Deactivated; the course won't appear in your dashboard if it is not a current enrollment.

- Activated; the course will appear in your dashboard no matter the enrollment status.

NOTE: If you would like to bookmark a prior course, you can go into the course from the All Courses menu, access the course settings and change the end date to a future date, bookmark the course, then change the end date back to the original end date.
