Switching Between Design Tools and DesignPLUS
A new version of the Design Tools sidebar for Canvas, called DesignPLUS, has been released and made available for instructors to switch to and from in the Design Tools user settings.
How to Switch from Design Tools to DesignPLUS
You can update your Design Tools to the newest version, DesignPLUS, in the tools settings:
Navigate to any page or assignment
Click Edit
Launch Design Tools
Click on the Settings icon
Click Try New Version
When you click on this, it may ask you that it will need to refresh your page. If you have made any edits to the page that you are on, make sure you save those before you refresh the page.
How to Switch from DesignPLUS to Design Tools
If you updated your Design Tools to Design Plus, but would like to switch back, you can do so within the tools User Settings:
Navigate to any page or assignment
Click Edit
Open DesignPLUS sidebar
Click More Options, then select User Settings
Click Switch to the legacy sidebar
When you click on this, it may ask you that it will need to refresh your page. If you have made any edits to the page that you are on, make sure you save those before you refresh the page.
